An exciting opportunity for an experienced, skilled & qualified Financial Analyst to join a high performing finance team in a growing team in Melbourne's Western suburbs. The finance Analyst will play a pivotal part in the strategic and commercial direction of the company during this period of growth. Given the circumstances, the individual will be working from home for the foreseeable future.

My client is a global FMCG brand that is a leader in their space. The success & ongoing growth of the organisation has led to the requirement of another Analyst to add to their Corporate Finance team.



Description

The key responsibilities and account abilities for the successful Financial Analyst will include but not be limited to:

  • Prepare consolidated budget and forecast templates
  • Analysing historical financial data - identifying trends and analysing discrepancies and identifying the reasoning for these movements and advising the relevant team
  • Showing initiative. Spotting trends and going the extra mile by identifying ways in which there are opportunities to add value through system or process improvements
  • Undertaking and analysing industry and competitor analysis and underlying drivers for the industry
  • Assisting in technical financial reporting when required
  • Assisting in the presentation of the board pack
  • Ad hoc tasks as required by senior stakeholders within the business
  • Finance Business Partner for allocated cost centres. Coordinate and work together with respective cost centre owners to make sure all relevant analysis and reporting is done on a timely manner
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis (both financial & non-financial) and prepare reports to support business decisions
  • Assist management in the preparation of business plans/ models for proposed projects and other business initiatives
  • Liaise with and report to a number of senior stakeholders from different regions across the group of companies
  • Assist the Finance team in the financial year-end process and preparation of the annual report



Profile

The successful analyst will be:

  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards it
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications
  • Big 4 exposure to the retail industry experience ideal
  • Strong ERP exposure to a large system
  • Exposure to Power BI, Hyperion or a similar system
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Analytically minded
  • Strong sense of process improvement
  • Have proven examples of adding value to past organisations
