JOB DESCRIPTION

Burnside PARC is a ten bed residential mental health unit situated in Deer Park. Mercy Mental Health is looking for a consumer peer worker with lived experience to join the team in a permanent part time capacity.

Deer Park location
Equivalent to 0.6 FTE - 48 hrs per fortnight.
Primary tasks of the role involves on site support for ther clients in the program during their four week admission.
This is an integral role within our multi disciplinary team.
Collaborative step up and step down prevention and recovery model with a least restrictive approach to client care.

ABOUT YOU:
Completed or commenced Certificate IV in Mental Health
Ability to connect with a wide range of clients through your own lived experience in mental health recovery.
Ongoing interest in mental health education opportunities
Current Victorian driver's license

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
